About Historical Cedar Valley
Welcome to the Historical Cedar Valley website, created by staff at the Waterloo Public Library.
Our staff are proud to live and work in the Waterloo, and we have developed a deep appreciation for the people, businesses and organizations who have made this community what it is today.
Understanding a community's history is important, so that we know how we got to where we are today. Toward this end, WPL wanted to find a way to make its collections of historical documents and images available to a wider audience.
We have been fortunate to work with a number of talented and dedicated amateur historians who have spent years collecting images of and information about Waterloo and the surrounding communities.
We want to thank everyone who has allowed us to digitize and put these collections online. We will continue to add items as we acquire them.
